Claiming compensation

HomeImage3.jpg

If you, or a member of your family, have been diagnosed with an asbestos-related condition you may be entitled to compensation if you were negligently exposed to asbestos, even if your employer or the responsible party has now gone out of business.

If you are diagnosed with an asbestos-related disease, it is important that you seek legal advice as soon as possible.

Clydebank Asbestos Group can help you get the one to one specialist legal advice you need from a solicitor with the experience in dealing with asbestos compensation claims.

Over the years, compensation claims have been made for pleural plaques, pleural thickening, asbestosis, mesothelioma and lung cancer caused by asbestos.

Claims are continuing to be fought strenuously, and we and the specialist solicitors we work with continue to campaign to improve the rights of those whose lives have been affected by negligent asbestos exposure.  In relation to mesothelioma claims, if someone now dies from mesothelioma and they settle their claim during life then their family can still have a claim after their deaths.  We can now push for compensation for a man or a woman that is dying of mesothelioma safe in the knowledge that their loved one can still make a compensation claim afterwards.

The government has been pushed to introduce a payment scheme to allow those diagnosed with mesothelioma to receive damages even where an insurer for the negligent employer cannot be traced.

Following recent landmark decisions achieved by the specialist industrial disease team at Digby Brown Solicitors, individuals diagnosed with pleural plaques as a result of negligent exposure can now expect to receive double the amount of compensation that insurers were formerly prepared to pay.

We continue to fight for Industrial Injuries Disablement Benefit for all our members who have an asbestos condition. We are aware of the tactics being used by the Insurance Companies to try and minimise compensation to victims so along with colleagues at other Asbestos Groups and the Solicitors firms we work with we continue to be vigilant.

Compensation issues are often complicated and can take a long time to resolve. We work with specialists who can ensure that claims are progressed, using the best experts with no financial risk.
