International Asbestos Memorial Progress

International Asbestos Memorial

Dear Clydebank Asbestos Group

I am aware this is a high profile project for Clydebank and the Clydebank Asbestos Group, and that it calls for a fitting memorial, containing strong ideas, artistic integrity and design excellence which is executed to the highest standards.

I enclose a detailed proposal for the delivery of the International Asbestos Memorial which I believe meets the above criteria. This proposal is made up of artistic thought, CGI visuals, material sample, along with supporting budget information.

While developing this proposal I have research the issues of asbestos both past and present understanding the impact this has had and what it means for the future. I have also considered the site, the needs of the site users, vandalism, maintenance, health and safety, delivering value for money and have ensured the design allows for names to be added to the memorial going forward.

Realised I believe the memorial will make a positive and lasting contribute to the loca lcommunity in remembrance of all those that have tragically and unnecessarily lost their live to asbestos related illnesses, particularly to all those who have lost loved ones, as well as those visitors from overseas.

It is a hope that the memorial will assist in raising universal awareness of the scale and global extent of the problem that faces us today and how the suffering caused by asbestos is predicted to increase well in to the future, to assure future commitment to the work of Clydebank Asbestos Group who have for over 20 years been fighting for truth and justice.

Finally I would like to say that I am exceptionally grateful for the opportunity to have been invited to design such an important memorial, which I know is so close to the hearts of everyone involved. A sincere Thank You.
