Remembering the dead, fighting for the living
We marked IWMD last Friday, the 24th of April. A large crowd gathered at the International Asbestos Memorial in Truth and Justice Square where we heard tributes, laid wreaths and held a minute of silence to remember those who have lost their lives due to asbestos.

CAG mourns the loss of campaigning friend Tony Worthington MP. The death of former Clydebank and Milngavie member of parliament Tony Worthington was met with great sadness by everyone associated with Clydebank Asbestos Group; board members, volunteers and staff. It is difficult to quantify the contribution he made over a very long period in office and during his retirement. He will be greatly missed.

Clydebank Asbestos Group head to the Scottish Parliament
On the first week of March, we hosted an exhibition in the Scottish Parliament, which delved into the history of Scotland’s asbestos legacy and highlighted to MSPs the asbestos and silicosis issues that we are campaigning on. We were able to speak to a number of MSPs and even First Minister John Swinney said hello!

Asbestos-related Lung Cancer Discussed at Westminster
